Billy S. Rowland started in business in Lorain County in 1957 as Bill Rowland, General Contractors. He began acquiring and building residential and commercial properties in 1960 so named…

“ROWLAND ENTERPRISES”.

Over the years, he expanded his business experience to include Trucking companies hauling bulk cement, aggregate, and freight throughout Ohio and Michigan. He formed partnerships including a Beauty Salon & Spa, Restaurant, and a Welding Shop all in Lorain, Ohio…creating numerous employment opportunities for our community.

More partnerships were formed to develop vacant land and property in Lorain, Amherst, and North Ridgeville under the name of “Starland Investment Company” which brought additional jobs to Lorain County.

Billy Rowland along with a group of like-minded people caused “Buckeye Community Bank” to be formed and chartered in October 1999. In 2000 a private foundation “The Rowland Family Foundation” was created and funded to insure a long-term community commitment to the nonprofit sector, primarily Christian Ministries.

In 1993 Bill was awarded the “Small Business Person of the year Award”. In 2004 he received the “Eric Nord Award for Excellence in Community Service” from Leadership Lorain County, and in 2005 he was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” through Lorain County Community College.

Billy Rowland donated land consisting of 53 acres and beautiful lake to The Elyria Township Trustees to add to their existing property of 15 acres off Murray Ridge Rd. in Elyria, OH.

We were honored to have the park named “The Rowland Nature Preserve”. The park has beautiful walking trails and is continually being improved with a new playground as their most recent addition.

A major highlight of the park is the “911 Memorial” displaying an actual piece from one of the “Twin Towers”.

Rowland Enterprises continues to serve and expand in the real estate market with recent residential apartment acquisitions and commercial building development in Lorain County, OH.

Company principals and key personnel are professionally qualified and experienced in a wide range of commercial and residential applications including leasing, build-outs and construction of new and existing buildings.

Rowland Motors, Inc. is currently operating five successful JD Byrider Franchises in Parkersburg, Charleston, Clarksburg, Morgantown, and Barbourseville, W.VA with expansion into Ashland, KY in 2017. The main office operations and Recon Center is located in Marietta, OH.

Pearl Avenue LLC is a successful partnership formed with E & R Services (Tom Eschtruth) operating a local demolition landfill. Major recycling efforts at this Pearl Avenue location help to reduce our carbon footprint in Lorain County.

Starland Investment Company is another partnership formed to develop property available in Lorain County, OH. We also have Office space for lease in Amherst, OH.
